History

Iscador AG was founded on the work of the Hiscia Institute where mistletoe preparations have been produced for more than six decades.

Iscador AG continues the culture of production and research, which has been established and developed at the Hiscia Institute since 1949 and also markets and distributes the mistletoe preparations. Hiscia Institute staff have been incorporated and expanded into Iscador Ltd to ensure continuity in the provision of the mistletoe preparations.

The Hiscia Institute belongs to the Society for Cancer Research ("Verein für Krebsforschung") in Arlesheim, which was founded in 1935 and conducts goal directed research on anthroposophic cancer therapy.

Iscador AG activities are based on the fundamental research on mistletoe pharmaceutics initiated in 1917 with regard to anthroposophic cancer therapy by Dr. Ita Wegman and Rudolf Steiner, the founder of anthroposophy.
